Make sure not to scrub with toilet paper on the area since it will irritate your skin and worsen hemorrhoids. If you take baths, make sure to clean and wipe down the bath beforehand but do not use soaps, as it will irritate your skin.

My father had hemorrhoids REALLY bad and ended up doing a combination of witch hazel, chamomile tea, and some prescription medicine his doctor gave him. But they can DEFINITELY be uncomfortable and in some cases, PAINFUL. There’s a lot of ways to avoid it, but most importantly – BE ACTIVE and exercise!

I had no idea that external hemorrhoids didn’t normally bleed, so now this makes a lot more sense to me. This was something that happened to my mother, and we had a pretty confusing time discussing it with the doctor because she was unclear about what was going on with her.
