Causes of Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids are generally caused by strong pressure against the rectum area, mostly caused from one or several factors including heavy lifting, severe bouts of constipation, or being in a sitting position for a long time period. All these factors, but not limited to these, can place stress on the anal, or rectal, area and cause blood vessels to swell. These swollen, or bulging, vessels in the rectal area are what are known as hemorrhoids. When a person who suffers from hemorrhoids attempts to sit down, it makes the vessels even more inflamed and swollen. Since this is a common position we find ourselves in all the time in our daily lives, having to sit down and go to the bathroom, you can see how this can be very frustrating and painful.
Acute Hemorrhoids
In acute cases of hemorrhoids, the blood vessels will become very inflamed and may even burst. Bleeding hemorrhoids are the result and this is a very painful condition. When hemorrhoids enter this stage, they are called thrombosed hemorrhoids. In most cases, though, people who suffer from hemorrhoids usually find out their condition before it gets to this advanced stage.
Symptoms of Hemorrhoids
Some of the main symptoms of hemorrhoids include burning, itching, and painful irritation. The amount of pain really depends on how acute the hemorrhoids are. It is advisable that a hemorrhoid sufferer should deal with this problem right away, regardless of how large or small the hemorrhoids actually are. Hemorrhoids are not a life-threatening condition but suffering from hemorrhoids is not a day at the park either. They can be very painful, uncomfortable, and also embarrassing. Perhaps the worst part is that once they have formed, they do not normally get cured on their own. It is always better to deal with them right away once you realize this condition exists.
The Truth About Hemorrhoid Cures
A common myth about hemorrhoids treatment, or cure for the condition, is that one must apply it externally for it to work. An example would be a cream of some sort that you apply to the effected area. This seems to make sense because hemorrhoids protrude out from the rectal area. So applying a cream or gel directly to the affected area would seem like the the best and fastest solution. But herein lies a problem. Topical solutions only provide temporary relief and hardly ever cure hemorrhoids. This is especially true if we are talking about acute cases.
Should External Treatments Be Used At All?
These types of treatments can be used as long as you dont expect to cure your hemorrhoids solely by their use. If you do use them, it is suggested that you use more simple, natural gels, like petroleum jelly or aloe. Recent studies have shown that they help to reduce swelling and ease the pain of hemorrhoids that are detected early just about as well as any chemical based over-the-counter drug.

I think most of us don’t have that will power to change. For instance, we don’t have the will power to change our eating habits. Most of us already know that eating oily and fatty foods for instance will just lead our body to diseases, yet we couldn’t stop, we are having a hard time controlling our senses.
Hemorrhoids is just one complicated disease that a person could acquire if that person would not change his or her habits as soon as possible.
Somehow lets be glad because there are lots of sites and forums in the internet that deal with health issues.
If we want to be happy, and we want our families to be happy, the time to change is now. Lets start with the man in the mirror.

I agree completely about treating hemorrhoids solely with the creams and suppositories that are on the market today. They will offer relief, but not long term relief. In fact, you may find that they give you a false sense of hope because your symptoms will just flare up again.
I have found personally, that the best path to reducing hemorrhoid flare ups is to make some lifestyle changes, including adding water, fiber, and Omega 3s to the diet. Without these types of changes, all other treatments are probably just going to mask the symptoms.

Many people are ashamed to ask their physician: “What causes hemorrhoids?”, just because they assume they are alone with this discomfort.

Its not uncommon for traditional hemorrhoid treatment options to just mask the symptoms someone is suffering. Once the use of the product is discontinued all to often those who suffer from hemorrhoids are shocked when they show up again.
